A vital aspect of any garden build is the hard landscaping. For smaller projects, I routinely perform this aspect, with expert assistance from one or two colleagues. For larger projects I will introduce you to one or more professional landscaping contractors that regularly work on my projects. These contractors will provide you with a competitive quote for the services. I am happy to assist in reviewing the technical aspect of the quote as well as project management, if requested.

Paved Terraces and Patios
The seating area of any project is vital. See a couple of examples from my previous projects (installation following my specification by external contractors where indicated).
Choosing the right type of paving can be challenging with so many options to choose from! I am happy to assist, with recommendations that may suit your garden style and location. I would also recommending visting various paving companies where examples of pavers and slabs can be found. Longwater Gravel in Norwich has a wide variety of paved areas showcasing their different types to help you to decide.
Paths and Access
How you move around your garden doesn’t have to be purely practical. Paths should be easy to walk on, flat and beautiful to look at. Self binding gravel paths (eg Breedon gravel) can be reminiscent of a Mediterrean style and are very effective. A slightly less rigid ath (although still very stable) is a thin layer of loose gravel over a base of compacted hardcore. Brick weave, flags or block paving can also work very well.
Pergolas and Trellis
A wooden structures such as a pergolas, trellis or arbor can added vertical interest within your garden.
Water Features
You may be interested in a formal or informal water feature.
Decking
A decking seating area is a popular alternative to a paved terrace and can be very stylish and inviting. Decking can be made with soft or hard wood or composite boards and can be raised or at ground level. Below are a couple of recent project examples.
